My Favorite Books

Over my life, I’ve read over 250 books (not counting school requirements ha). I will not be counting all those books. Instead, I will start the count from the moment I realized I loved romance novels. That would be high school, with Twilight… I KNOW! But seriously, don’t knock those books, they’re a thousand times better than the movies.

ANYWAY. Over those thirteen years, I have read roughly 150 books. Among those 150 books, these are my favorite:

  1. Pride & Prejudice – Jane Austen
  2. Better Than the Movies – Lynn Painter
  3. The Virgin Romance NovelistMeghan Quinn
  4. Say You Swear – Meagan Brandy
  5. Blind SideKandi Steiner
  6. The Mother RoadMeghan Quinn
  7. The Locker Room Meghan Quinn
  8. CannonSamantha Whiskey
  9. Verity – Colleen Hoover
  10. The Wrong Heart – Jennifer Hartmann
  11. Hopeless – Colleen Hoover
  12. Outlander – Diana Gabaldon
  13. A Long Time Coming Meghan Quinn
  14. Stealing BamaHannah Gray
  15. Tangled – Laura Pavlov
  16. Thoughtful – S.C. Stephens
  17. Rush Kandi Steiner
  18. The Wrong Mr. Right – Stephanie Archer
  19. Fling Adriana Locke
  20. The Highland FlingMeghan Quinn

What does it take to break the top?
Well first, I firmly believe you should know the name of the author if it’s your favorite book. Maybe not all top twenty, but at least the top five.

But mostly, to me, it doesn’t have to be a book that completely changes your life. It just needs to move you-make you feel things. It’s a book that you don’t stop thinking about, seeps into your mind while your scanning groceries at work, or filing paper work. Each of these books has done that to me.

When a book breaks the top, it means I love it as a whole. It has a great storyline, great characters and mostly, character development. Character development is key for me. If a character isn’t growing, I’m not interested.

What’s interesting is that my favorite modern book boyfriend (because hello, Mr. Darcy is obvi #1) is not in my top two.

My number one modern book boyfriend is Henry from The Virgin Romance Novelist. It’s because it takes more than a great guy to win me over. I’ve gotta be sold on the whole package.

So, what book speaks to your soul? The book you can’t get out of your mind?
