My Rating:
Book Description: I thought he’d always be mine, even when I was forced to say goodbye. We were never meant to let go, but it happened anyway. Too bad I didn’t know someone was waiting to take my place, or I would’ve held on a lot tighter. Two years later, we were exactly where we’d always planned to be. I’d kept my promise. He’d forgotten all about his.
Not only had he moved on, but the person he’d moved on with was my best friend, leaving me to begin college with a broken heart. I guess this is the part where I’m supposed to tell you some other guy stepped in, repaired my shattered pieces, and made me smile again. This isn’t that kind of story. My heart might have been broken, but it refused to fall out of love

My Review:
Quinton & Daisy
This is my first book by Ella Fields, and I’m definitely sold. She is a great storyteller. This is book 1 in the Gray Springs University.
Daisy starts her freshman year at Gray Springs, hoping to run into the boy she gave her heart to and was forced to leave behind, Quinn. It’s been two years since she saw him last, but she firmly believes they’re meant to be and would finally be reunited. Unfortunately, her hopes are completely shredded when she runs into Quinn, kissing the best friend she also left behind, Alexis. Can they find their way back to each other? Or are there too many obstacles?
I love stories where the hero and heroine have known each other since childhood, and we get flashbacks. It makes me happy.
Quinn was a good guy that believed he lost the love of his life. Even that doesn’t seem right when describing the love these two shared. At first, I was frustrated with Quinn because he told Daisy that he loved Alexis and that was that. There was nothing that could be done. I’m a firm believer that you can’t love more than one person at a time, at least not the same way.
I appreciated it when he finally realized that what he and Alexis shared wasn’t real love. It would minimize what he and Daisy shared if they hadn’t clarified.
“I’m gonna marry you someday, Daisy June.” My breathing stopped at the same time my feet did. Spinning around, I stuck my hands on my hips and planted a smirk on my face, hoping it hid the weird feeling bubbling in my tummy. “Really?” -Quinn
I really like Daisy and relate to her in a lot of ways. Poor girl. What Quinn and Alexis did to her was 100% a betrayal. She did her best to cope and move on, but what Quinn went through after she moved, is what she went through when she saw him and Alexis outside the ice cream shop. I just really liked her, definitely one of my favorite heroines.
It’s been a while since I disliked a character as much as I disliked Alexis. And not in a villain, fantasy, unrealistic way. But a completely realistic mean girl, who manipulated and lied her way to Quinn. I don’t condone cheating, but this story was definitely different. I mean the girl avoided Quinn just so he couldn’t break up with her. Needless to say, I’m NOT A FAN.
The side characters were awesome. I loved Daisy’s roommate Pip especially. “Soon enough, only half of the vodka remained and hardly any orange juice. We’d somehow ended up on the floor, having a staring match. “You blinked first,” she said, a bit of a slur to her words.” They were completely relatable.
Callum was a solid guy. My heart broke for him too. His heart was broken too, and I like that both him and Daisy found a bit of comfort/peace with each other.
I’m really looking forward to seeing the side characters get there HEA’s.
Altogether, a fantastic read. I can’t wait to dive into the other books!
