Eden & Tyler 

This is the final installment in the DIMILY series.  

One reviewer mentioned that they felt like there was going to be more drama in this book. That it was anti-climactic because of it. But here’s the thing, this story is all about growth, becoming adults and making the and choices. Tyler went to therapy, got his shit together and became the man he was wanted to be. Not just for Eden, but for himself. 

In my review for the previous book, I even mention that as much as the ending was soul crushing, it was understandable. Tyler even said, he only got clean and didn’t hit people FOR Eden. He wanted to be able to do the right thing for himself and because… it was the right thing. It’s admirable, and I respect the hell out of him for it. 

“I was right to have hope, and I was right to give Tyler another chance, and I was right to follow my heart, because sometimes, just sometimes, taking risks turns out to be worth it.” -eden

It was frustrating that he never actually spoke or wrote to Eden. He never told her where he was or what he was doing, of course she was upset. She only ever heard from him when his mom passed along the message. The guy was in Washington! Crazy. Just a hop and a skip away. He says that he picked it because it reminded him of Eden, which was sweet. I loved it when Tyler brought together all their friends for ‘4th of July’, their holiday. That was really thoughtful. And Snake and Rachel are still together which was pretty cool.

I so badly wanted Tyler to punch Eden’s dad in the face. The guy was a major douche and because he was the dad, he felt like he could say whatever he wanted. Ugh. Tyler’s mom was a saint though. She just wanted her boy to be happy, especially after everything he had been through. I wanted to give her the biggest hug when she encouraged Tyler and Eden to leave, even if it meant there would be even more of a strain on her relationship with her husband, and the family. Like I said, the woman is a saint. 

It was nice to see her dad come around though. It was emotional and I might have cried, but it was nice not to see the anger and animosity anymore. It did break my heart a bit that Jamie was still so angry. He was just so cruel, I miss the old Jamie. 

I loved Eden’s final thoughts, it really hit me. “We have grown, and we have learned, but most importantly, we have finally accepted ourselves.” Their story is about self-acceptance, and not worrying about what other people think about them. A beautiful ending, to a beautiful story. One that I will 100% read again. 

This is book 3 out of 4 in the DIMILY series. It is NOT a standalone.
